Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

Welcome to SimpleWeb.Africa (“we,” “us,” “our”). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website and all related services provided by SimpleWeb.Africa, including our website design, hosting, and subscription-based website management packages (“Services”).

SimpleWeb.Africa operates as a brand under Ground Zero Media, which owns and manages all technical assets related to domain registration and hosting.

By subscribing to or using our Services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not subscribe or use our Services.

2. Services Provided

  • Domain registration and management
  • Website design and development
  • Email account registration
  • Hosting and maintenance
  • Security and software updates
  • Basic technical support

Our subscription plans start from:

  • R99/month: Landing Page (single-page website)
  • R199/month: Basic (3–10 page website)
  • R299/month: Catalogue-style website
  • R399/month: Full e-commerce website
  • R19/month: 1gb iMap email account
  • R29/month: 10gb Microsoft exchange email account

Each plan is fully managed by SimpleWeb.Africa to ensure reliability, performance, and simplicity.

3. Subscription and Payments

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance.
  • Payment is accepted via Card Payment only.
  • Failure to make payment within 7 days may result in suspension of your website and email accounts.
  • After 90 days of non-payment, all website and email data may be permanently deleted.
  • Pricing changes will be communicated with 30 days’ notice via email or website notice.
  • Your subscription remains active while your account is in good standing.

4. Ownership of Website and Content

All websites designed and hosted by SimpleWeb.Africa are managed under a subscription model. The website design, structure, and system files remain the property of Ground Zero Media for the duration of the subscription.

The client retains ownership of all logos, brand materials, written content, and images supplied by them. Upon cancellation, you may request copies of your written content before removal.

5. Cancellation Policy

  • Cancel anytime by emailing billing@simpleweb.africa at least 14 days before your next billing date.
  • Services remain active until the end of the paid period.
  • After cancellation, your website and email accounts will be disabled and all data removed.
  • No refunds are provided for partial months or unused time.

6. Buyout Policy

SimpleWeb.Africa websites are built and maintained under a subscription model. All technical assets, website design files, and hosting environments remain the property of Ground Zero Media for the duration of the subscription. Clients may request a buyout if they wish to take full ownership of their website and transfer it elsewhere.

Eligibility

A buyout is available only to clients who have maintained an active subscription for a minimum of 6 consecutive months and have no outstanding payments.

What’s Included in a Buyout

  • A copy of the completed website files (HTML, CSS, and media assets)
  • Database export (if applicable)
  • Assistance in transferring the domain (if registered through Ground Zero Media)

What’s Not Included

  • The SimpleWeb.Africa platform, systems, or subscription infrastructure
  • Any third-party plugin or license that cannot legally be transferred
  • Ongoing technical support after the buyout is completed

Buyout Fees (Clarified)

The buyout fee is calculated as four (4) years’ worth of monthly subscription payments based on your current plan. This calculation is for buyout purposes only and does not:

  • Imply any automatic 4-year subscription commitment
  • Affect ongoing monthly payments if you continue your subscription
  • Provide any discount or cessation of monthly fees after 4 years

Example calculations based on current plans:

  • Landing Page: R99 × 48 months = R4,752
  • Basic Website: R199 × 48 months = R9,552
  • Catalogue Website: R299 × 48 months = R14,352
  • E-commerce Website: R399 × 48 months = R19,152

Any subscription fees already paid by the client will be deducted from the buyout fee. Full payment of the remaining balance is required before release of website files or domain transfer.

Domain Ownership

If your domain was registered and managed by Ground Zero Media, full ownership will be transferred to you upon completion of the buyout and payment of the remaining buyout balance.

Finalisation

Once the buyout process is complete, SimpleWeb.Africa and Ground Zero Media relinquish all management and hosting responsibilities for the website. The client assumes full ownership, control, and liability for the website’s operation, content, and compliance.

7. Content and User Responsibility

You are responsible for ensuring all content you provide:

  • Is accurate, lawful, and does not infringe on intellectual property rights.
  • Does not contain offensive, defamatory, or illegal material.
  • Complies with South African and international law.

We reserve the right to remove content that violates these conditions or threatens our reputation or system security.

8. Support and Maintenance

  • Hosting and uptime monitoring
  • Security updates and technical improvements
  • Minor content changes (within reason)

Typical response time: 1–2 business days.

9. Domain Names and Email Hosting

All domains registered through SimpleWeb.Africa are legally owned by Ground Zero Media and managed by SimpleWeb.Africa on behalf of clients.

If you already own a domain, you may:

  • Transfer it to SimpleWeb.Africa for full management, or
  • Keep your provider and point your DNS to our servers (instructions provided).

If your domain is hosted elsewhere, SimpleWeb.Africa will not manage your emails but can guide you on setup with your provider.

For domains we manage, email accounts will be registered and maintained under your subscription. Full configuration instructions are provided, and clients are responsible for password security.

10. Service Availability and Downtime

We strive for maximum uptime, but downtime may occur due to maintenance, hosting provider issues, or external events. SimpleWeb.Africa cannot be held responsible for interruptions beyond our control.

11. Limitation of Liability

SimpleWeb.Africa and Ground Zero Media are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including data loss or downtime. Our total liability is limited to the total amount paid in the preceding three (3) months.

12. Termination of Service

Your account may be suspended or terminated without notice if:

  • You breach these Terms.
  • You fail to pay for more than 90 days.
  • You use our services for illegal or unethical activity.

Upon termination, all website and email data will be permanently deleted.

13. Updates to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
